Buriton Parish Plan wins Hampshire Community Empowerment Award |
The parish of Buriton will receive a trophy, certificate and £700 after being awarded first prize at the South East Community Empowerment Awards for Hampshire.
Many inspiring community projects were put forward for the award and judges found it hard to make a decision. However, Buriton's Parish Plan was finally chosen as the winner. Many wonderful community projects have come from the plan including environmental road improvements, neighbour care group which helps older people and the Buriton Banquet which is a community dinner where food is provided by local farms.
