| South Downs National Park |

The South Downs are a range of hills that run from Winchester to Eastbourne and are over a hundred miles long. 108,000 people live within the National Park boundary. It has the largest population out of any of the 10 national parks. There are three towns in the park, Petersfield , Midhurst and Lewes. South Downs National Park Authority came into being on the 1st April 2011. Their role will include delivering programmes within the park as well as being the local planning authority for the area.
